UMUC Alumna to Serve as President and CEO of Maryland Chamber of Commerce
UMUC alumna Christine Ross ’06 and ’08 will serve as the next Maryland Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer. Ross currently serves as the President and CEO of the Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce and the Bonita Springs Estero Economic Development Council in Florida.

Hildebrand Gift to Support Military Students
Lt. Col. Dona Hildebrand (USAF, Ret.) announced a $500,000 gift to UMUC. The gift was made on behalf of her late husband, Col. Floyd G. Hildebrand, who graduated from UMUC in 1958. The gift will provide general program support within the university’s Global Military Operations unit.
Peter Smith Named Orkand Chair at UMUC
Peter Smith, Ed.D. has been named the Orkand Endowed Chair and Professor of Innovative Practices in Higher Education at University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
