UMUC Center for Intellectual Property (CIP)
The Center for Intellectual Property (CIP) is one of the many UMUC Centers and organizations that offer programs for professional development, located at the Largo Academic Center, and is accessible to alumni, students and faculty. The Center for Intellectual Property has been providing a critical forum for authoritative information and programming about intellectual property management since 1999.
The CIP specializes in providing dynamic, highly interactive experiences for participants in programming devoted to intellectual property issues. The CIP staff provides training and also partners with experts in the field, both scholars and practitioners, for continuing education activities to ensure participants have a rewarding experience.

In 2012, the Graduate School of UMUC, in partnership with the CIP, introduced a new postbaccalaureate certificate focusing on mass digitization, publication, and distribution of intellectual property. The new Graduate Certificate, Intellectual Property, Digitization and Digital Media is now offered to anyone interested gaining a competitive edge in the growing number of IP-intensive occupations.
